Horse trailers with a front exit are particularly popular in the United Kingdom and France. There are, however, an increasing number of riders, breeders and trainers in Germany who also prefer these models.
The market leader Böckmann also has two models with front exit in its portfolio. The two Portax models combine the advantages of the front exit with those of the Portax series – convenience, generous dimensions and safety at the highest level. Safe unloading of the horse is regarded as the greatest advantage of the front exit, as it can walk down facing forwards with the rider. This can be very advantageous, especially with young or nervous horses, as this prevents them rushing and stumbling down the ramp backwards.
The Portax with front exit is available in two different sizes – as the Portax K or as Portax L K, which is a full 60 cm longer than the classic version. Both versions are equipped with a solid aluminium floor and walls as well as the lowered WCFplus chassis as standard features. The world-class chassis that complies with automotive standards with hot-dip galvanised independent wheel suspension, coil spring suspension and wheel shock absorbers ensures travelling comfort at the highest level.
Another highlight of the standard equipment is the track-proven Böckmann Multi Safe System (MSS). With the height-adjustable, quick-release stall bars at the front and back the height can be adjusted individually, and the system guarantees that horses are quickly freed in the event of an emergency.
In addition, the Portax K features the rear ramp/1-wing door combination and tarpaulin lift with integrated net and roll-up function as well as the rear and front swivelling centre post dividing wall with padding. The Portax model with front exit is a true all-rounder and provides more comfort, first-class quality and above all lots of space for the varied needs of horse and rider.
